Volunteers Needed for Dry-Stone Walling!

Cheddleton Parish Council is looking for passionate volunteers to join an exciting restoration project for the at risk "Butter Cross" in the Basford area! Volunteers will receive expert instruction from Derbyshire-trained instructors in Dry-Stone Walling techniques to restore field walls and a retention wall around the Cross.

This amazing project offers a unique opportunity to gain first-hand experience in Dry-Stone Walling over two weekends in March and April! All tools and facilities will be provided, except for essential safety boots and packed lunches.

We're looking for individuals who are eager to learn and enthusiastic about preserving an important piece of local heritage. Sponsored by Historic England and supported by the Parish Council, Staffs County Council, and our wonderful local residents, this incredible experience is completely FREE!
